Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), GoI is involved in construction/ upgradation of various National Highways in Jammu and Kashmir through its National Agencies like NHAI, NHIDCL and BRO. However, many National Highway works are also being done by the Union Ministry through J&K PWD.
At present, many works on NH-44, NH-444, NH-501 and NH-144 have been approved to be done by the PW(R&B) Department and are at various stages of execution, details of which are as under:
